Jana Hlaváčová: It’s important for me to be able to ask questions

Multiple sclerosis advocate, Jana Hlaváčová, outlines the importance of being able to ask healthcare professionals questions about health, lifestyle and life issues for people living with MS.

"I have a really good relationship with my doctors, with my neurologist, with my psycho and physio, and I must say I really feel safe.  I can ask whatever I need to if I have some concerns about my health, about my condition, but also I can discuss not only the health and the physical state, but also how I lead my life; how the disease affects the quality of my life.  So, for example, I discuss my job, the things that really matter to me, and that can be affected by the disease. So it’s very important for me to be able to ask the questions, to monitor my health so that I can stay in the shape that I am. Also, regarding the things that aren’t necessarily connected to your physical need, but also the social, so the interactions, the healthy lifestyle that you lead and also the job. It’s very important to focus on the workability as well."
