Øivind Torkildsen: Halting progression of MS is possible for new patients

Professor Øivind Torkildsen describes his treatment goals for people with newly diagnosed multiple sclerosis.

"My goal for multiple sclerosis today is to stop the disease progression in the patient we diagnose. And I think this is an achievable goal in newly diagnosed patients. We see that we are able to keep these patients stable with the potent treatment. In the long run, I want to eradicate this disease. We are not there yet, but I really think that in the next 10 years we will see some revolution in the treatment of the disease."
